Electro-voice ZLX-12BT Setup Guide

1. EV: Basic Setup

The good thing about this product is it has an LCD display on the back that will help the Guest get through setup. The first thing the Guest needs to do is plug in the power cord:

The port should be labeled "MAINS IN"

Then, they need to turn the Gain knob (not the master volume knob) to 'minus infinity' (yes that is a real setting) or else they will likely hurt themselves or blow out the speakers. This is very important.

Finally, the Guest can power up the unit.

2. EV: Connecting Bluetooth

To connect to a Bluetooth device, the Guest must push in the Master Volume knob to turn on the back display.

Next, have the Guest twist the master volume knob until 'Streaming' appears in the DSP window. Pressing the volume knob will show the sub menu to the right side of the screen.

Using the volume knob once again, have the Guest select 'Pairing', then make sure Bluetooth on their phone/tablet/computer is turned on. Finally, have them press the volume knob to select pairing.

The speaker will show up in the Guest's list of available Bluetooth devices. They tap to connect.

3. EV: Final Volume Adjustments

This is another important step before the Guest attempts to use their speaker:

Again, failing to follow these instructions could damage the unit or cause some unexpected clipping problems when listening to audio.

4. Bluetooth Basic TS

If the Guest cannot connect through Bluetooth, have them make sure their device is not connected to anything else via Bluetooth.

If that's not the problem, have the Guest turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on, then attempt connection again.

If that does not work, have the Guest make sure their device is fully updated, turn it off, then turn it back on.

5. Broken Product Escalation
