Checking your printed document history on a Mac allows you to see a list of recently printed documents. Here's how to do it:
Click on the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen to open the Apple menu.
Select "System Preferences" from the dropdown.
In the System Preferences window, click on "Printers & Scanners."
In the Printers & Scanners window, you'll see a list of installed printers on the left sidebar.
Select the printer for which you want to check the print history.
Click on the "Open Print Queue" button. This will open the print queue for that printer.
In the print queue window, you can see a list of recently printed documents. Each print job is listed with its document name, status, and time of printing.
To view more details about a specific print job, click on it, and a menu will appear. Select "Job Log" or "Job History" to see additional information about that print job.
Open the Finder by clicking the smiley face icon in the Dock.
In the Finder, navigate to the "Applications" folder.
Open the "Utilities" folder and find the "Console" app. Double-click to open it.
In the Console app, you'll see a list of logs and messages.
On the left sidebar, under "FILES," click on "~/Library/Logs."
Scroll down and select "CUPS." This folder contains logs related to your printer.
In the right pane, you'll see a list of log files with names like "error_log" and "page_log." These logs contain information about your printed documents.
To view the contents of a log file, select it, and you can scroll through the log entries to find details about your printed documents.
Checking your printed document history on a Mac can be useful for keeping track of what you've recently printed and monitoring your printing activity. This feature can help you stay organized and maintain a record of your printed documents.
