How to Delete, Reset and Re-add a Vivint Ping Camera

1. Introduction
Does your Ping camera continue to show it's offline in the panel, even after troubleshooting steps? If your Vivint Ping camera is experiencing technical issues, it may be necessary to reset it to defaults. We can help get your Ping online and security system back to proper working order. 2. How to delete the Ping camera from the panel
It only takes a moment to delete the camera from the panel. Doing so removes it completely from your Vivint Smart Home. Afterwards, the camera must be re-added in order to use it again.
Tap the Home button on the panel to bring up the home screen.
From the home screen, tap the menu icon.
Tap Devices under Smart Home Settings.
Enter your 4-Digit PIN to access devices.
Tap Cameras for a list of your Vivint cameras.
Tap to select your Ping camera. If you don't see your device, you may skip these steps.
Scroll down past the settings and tap Delete camera.
Tap Yes if you are sure you want to delete your camera.
3. How to factory reset the Ping camera
Resetting your Ping camera to factory defaults takes around three to five minutes to complete. Follow the steps below.
Grip the camera and unplug power from the rear.
Press and hold the top button.
While holding the top button, plug the power back into the camera.
Continue to hold the button for another 20-45 seconds. Let go once the light turns red.
The camera will cycle through a series of lights for around two minutes.
Once the light turns green, the camera will announce that it is ready to re-connect to the Vivint system.
4. How to add the Ping camera back to the panel
Prepare the panel to add your Ping
To add the security camera back to your smart home, you must get the panel ready first.
Tap the Home button on the panel to bring up the home screen.
From the home screen, tap the menu icon.
Tap Devices under Smart Home Settings.
Enter your 4-Digit PIN to access devices.
Tap Add new device.
Tap Ping Camera.
Select the camera location. High traffic areas like the front or back door work best.
The panel will ask you to make sure the Ping is plugged in and ready. Tap Connect and then go to your camera.
Go to your Ping camera and add it
The panel will continue to search for the device. Next, you must couple the Ping back to the panel.
Go to your Ping camera.
Press and hold the top button on the camera for three seconds. Let go once you hear the chime.
Give the camera a few minutes to connect to your Vivint system.
The Ping's light will turn white as it announces it has successfully paired.
From your panel, you will be able to name your Ping and then view the live feed. You can also set options like status light, detection settings, video settings, recording options and more.
