Downloading and Installing Google Chrome on a Mac

Open Safari:
- Launch the Safari web browser on your Mac.
Visit the Chrome Website:
- Go to the Google Chrome download page: https://www.google.com/chrome/
Download the Installer:
- Click the “Download Chrome” button.
- Choose the version for Mac and click “Accept and Install.”
Open the Downloaded File:
- Once the download is complete, open the downloaded .dmg file.
Drag Chrome to Applications:
- In the window that appears, drag the Chrome icon to the “Applications” folder.
Open Google Chrome:
- Go to the Applications folder and double-click the Google Chrome icon to launch the browser.
Add to Dock:
- If you want quick access, drag the Chrome icon from the Applications folder to your Dock.
Set as Default Browser (Optional):
- When you first open Chrome, you will be prompted to set it as your default browser. Follow the prompts if desired.
Sign In to Chrome:
- If you use a Google account, sign in to Chrome to sync your bookmarks, history, and settings across devices.
Customize Chrome:
- Customize Chrome by installing extensions and themes from the Chrome Web Store.

Before We Begin:

We will use the built-in Safari browser on your Mac to download and install Google Chrome.

In the address bar at the top, type https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/ then press return.

Once Chrome has finished copying, drag the mounted installer disk image for Chrome from your Desktop to the Trash to unmount it. You do not need the installer now that Chrome is installed.
