How to Factory Reset a Fitbit Alta Activity Tracker
Authored by: Support.com Tech Pro Team
1. Introduction
First, note that your Fitbit Alta is more of a collector and transmitter of data than a storage device. All of your information is sent to your dashboard and saved online. Because the Alta only stores limited information (a few settings and current fitness data), it does not have a traditional factory reset. However, you can clear all information from the device and un-link it from your account, essentially returning it to its original "out-of-the-box" state.
To keep all of your latest data, be sure to sync before completing the next steps.
2. Remove from iPhone/iPad
Open the Fitbit app.
Tap on the Account icon.
Tap on the device that you want to delete.
Swipe up to view the bottom of the screen.
Tap on Remove This [Fitbit].
Tap Remove This [Fitbit] in the dialogue box.
When this Fitbit is added to another account, the tracker will automatically apply the new account settings.
3. Delete Paired Bluetooth Device
Navigate to Settings.
Tap Bluetooth. Note: Bluetooth must be switched on for a list of devices to display.
Tap the "i" icon to the right of the device name.
Tap Forget this Device.
Tap Forget this Device in the dialogue box. Your device is no longer recognized by your phone or tablet.
4. Restart
Plug in your charger and clip the other end of the charging cable onto the back of your Alta. The connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker's display.
Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. When the Fitbit logo appears and the tracker vibrates, you have successfully restarted your Alta.
Unplug the device.
5. Remove from Android Device
Open the Fitbit app.
Tap the Menu button in the top left of the screen.
Tap Devices.
Tap and hold [Fitbit Name] that you want to delete.
Tap Unpair again in the dialogue box.
When this Fitbit is added to another account, the tracker will automatically apply the new account settings.

Swipe down on your screen to access the menu.
Hold down on the Bluetooth icon to bring up Bluetooth options.
Slide Bluetooth ON if it isn't already.
Tap the gear icon next to the device you wish to unpair.
Tap Unpair.
The Bluetooth device has now been unpaired and can be re-added if you wish.
7. Remove from Win 10 Mobile

Tap the device that you want to delete.
