You may need to perform a factory reset on your LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate tablet as part of a troubleshooting step, or if you plan on selling it or giving it away. This guide will take you through the steps to reset your LeapPad Ultimate to its factory default settings.
Restoring your device to its factory default settings will remove all user data.
2. Install LeapFrog Connect
Navigate to the LeapFrog website.
Click on Support and then click Download LeapFrog Connect.
Click the Download button of your LeapFrog device from the available list. The software will begin to download.
Open the file that was downloaded to begin setup. Edge / Internet ExplorerClick on Run to start the installer.
Google ChromeClick the file downloaded in the bottom left corner.
Mozilla FirefoxClick Save File, click the Download Arrow, and click the file you downloaded.
Safari (Apple)Click the Download Arrow and select the file to open.
Once the program installer appears, click Next to proceed.
On the following screen, click the radio button to accept the license agreement. Then click Next.
Click Next to proceed.
The program installation has completed. Click Next to complete setup. The newly installed program will appear on-screen.
3. Factory Reset
Connect your LeapPad Ultimate to an available USB port on your computer using the supplied USB cable.
The LeapFrog Connect software will open. You may need to select the device you're working with if you have multiple LeapFrog products associated with this software.
Select Settings in the upper-left corner of the LeapFrog Connect software.
From the Settings window, select your LeapFrog device's tab, and then click the Reset button.
Click the Reset button again to confirm.
Your LeapFrog device will begin resetting back to factory defaults. A progress bar will indicate how far along it is in the process and an estimated completion time. Do not unplug or interrupt the reset process on your tablet. This could render your device completely unusable if the process is interrupted.
Once completed, your LeapFrog device will power down and restart. Once this is complete, the factory reset process has completed. It can now be safely unplugged from your computer.
