Factory resetting your VIZIO Smart TV can help resolve issues and restore default settings. Follow these steps:
Access TV Menu:
Press the “Menu” button on your VIZIO remote.
Navigate to System:

Select Reset & Admin:

2. Factory Reset a VIZIO Smart TV
Resetting a VIZIO Smart TV to its factory defaults will remove all customized settings, such as app, network, picture and audio settings, etc.
Even though VIZIO Smart TVs are reset to factory defaults in similar ways, the interface you may see on the screen may look slightly different. This interface is determined by the platform the TV is running on. To easily determine which platform your VIZIO Smart TV is running on, check the images below for reference:
VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA)
The VIA platform is found on VIZIO Smart TVs released between 2009 – 2013. You can install apps on this platform.
VIZIO Internet Apps Plus (VIA Plus)
The VIA Plus platform is found on VIZIO Smart TVs released between 2013 – 2017. You can install apps on this platform.
SmartCast with No Apps
The SmartCast platform with no apps is found on VIZIO HD Smart TVs released between 2016 – 2017. You cannot install apps on this platform.
SmartCast with Apps
The SmartCast platform with apps is found on VIZIO 4K UHD Smart TVs released between 2016 – 2017 and all VIZIO Smart TVs released since 2018. You cannot install apps on this platform.
To reset your VIZIO Smart TV to factory defaults, expand the instructions below for the type of TV you have:
SmartCast or VIZIO Internet Apps Plus (VIA Plus)
Press the Menu button on the TV remote.
Select System from the menu.
Then select Reset & Admin.
And select Reset TV to Factory Defaults.
If required, enter your parental control passcode or system PIN.
The default passcode or system PIN is 0000. Try that if you've never set it before.
You'll be asked to confirm whether you want to restore the default settings. Select Reset.
The TV will be restarted and it will bring up the initial setup screen.
VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA)
Press the Menu button on the TV remote.
Select Help from the menu.
Then select Clear Memory (Factory Default).
If required, enter your parental control passcode.
The default passcode is 0000. Try that if you've never set a passcode before.
You'll be asked to confirm whether you want to restore the default settings. Select Yes.
The TV will be restarted and it will bring up the initial setup screen.
