If your Ring device is not working as intended and you've exhausted all other possible repair steps or you want to give it to someone else, you can reset it to factory defaults.
2. Ring Device: Factory Reset: Video Doorbell
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Video Doorbell:
Make sure the doorbell is powered up if it's hardwired or the battery is charged.
Locate the orange reset button on the back side of the doorbell.
Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
After releasing it, the ring light located on the front will flash a few times indicating the doorbell is restarting.
The doorbell settings are now restored to their factory defaults.
3. Ring Device: Factory Reset: Video Doorbell 2
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Video Doorbell 2:
Make sure the doorbell is powered up if it's hardwired or the battery is charged.
Locate the black reset button on the front side of the camera, below the faceplate.
Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
After releasing it, the ring light located on the front will flash a few times indicating the doorbell is restarting.
The doorbell settings are now restored to their factory defaults.
4. Ring Device: Factory Reset: Video Doorbell Pro
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Video Doorbell Pro:
Locate the black reset button on the right side of the camera, below the faceplate.
Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
After releasing it, the ring light located on the front will flash a few times indicating the doorbell is restarting.
5. Ring Device: Factory Reset: Video Doorbell Elite
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Video Doorbell Elite:
Locate the black reset button on the front side of the camera, below the faceplate.
Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
After releasing it, the ring light located on the front will flash a few times indicating the doorbell is restarting.
The doorbell settings are now restored to their factory defaults.
6. Ring Device: Factory Reset: Chime / Chime Pro
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Chime and Chime Pro:
Make sure the device is plugged into a power outlet.
Locate the pinhole where the reset button is located on the side of the device.
Insert a pin or paperclip into the pinhole and press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
After releasing it, the status light located on the bottom will flash quickly a few times indicating the device is restarting.
The device settings are now restored to their factory defaults.
7. Ring Camera: Factory Reset: Spotlight/Floodlight
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Camera:
Make sure the camera is powered up.
Or the battery is charged.
Locate the reset button atop the camera.
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
After releasing it, the status light located at the bottom will flash a few times indicating the camera is restarting.
The camera settings are now restored to its factory defaults.
8. Ring Camera: Factory Reset: Stick Up
Resetting the device to factory defaults will erase all saved settings and preferences.
To factory reset your Ring Camera:
Make sure the camera is powered up or the battery is charged.
Locate the orange reset button on the back side of the camera.
Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
After releasing it, the status light located on the back will flash a few times indicating the camera is restarting.
The camera settings are now restored to its factory defaults.
