The Amazon Fire TV devices allow you to enjoy live TV, streaming content, online games and apps right from your TV screen. If you're encountering issues with your Fire TV, such as the screen freezing, the screen being blank or the device not powering on, this guide will show you how to address them.
If your Fire TV device remains on the logo screen during setup, wait at least ten minutes for the device to finish loading.
If your Fire TV device turned off while you were using it or after installing a software update, leave it unplugged until it has cooled down.
2. Check Power
Make sure the TV is plugged into a working power outlet. Bypass any power strips for troubleshooting purposes.
Press the power button on the unit itself or on the remote to turn it on.
3. TV input channel or source
Use your TV's remote to make sure that your TV input channel or source is set to the correct HDMI port.
4. Change Resolution
Press the Rewind and Up buttons on your Fire TV remote at the same time for five seconds.
The system will cycle through available output resolutions, pausing at each resolution for 10 seconds. If you see the correct resolution on-screen, select Use Current Resolution.

6. Check Power Connection
Make sure of the following:
You are using the power adapter provided with your Fire TV Stick.
The smaller end of the power cord is securely inserted into the side of the Stick itself.
The other end of the power cord is securely inserted into the side of the power adapter and the adapter is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
7. Check HDMI Connection
Make sure the Fire TV Stick is securely inserted into the HDMI port of your TV or display. You may wish to unplug and plug it back in to reseat the device.
If the rear layout of your display doesn't allow proper connectivity, make sure you use the HDMI extender cord provided with the Fire TV Stick.
If you're using an HDMI hub or splitter, unplug the Fire TV Stick from it and plug it directly into your TV or display.
Try switching to a different HDMI port on your TV and set the TV to the corresponding input channel. It may help to temporarily unplug other devices connected to the other HDMI ports.
If your Fire TV Stick is plugged into an AV Receiver or soundbar, try a different port similar to the suggestion above. If that does not work, try plugging it directly into your TV to test.
