How to Fix Apps on a Panasonic Smart TV

Authored by: Support.com Tech Pro Team

1. Introduction

Your Panasonic Smart TV is capable of running apps which often times require an internet connection. This is made possible by the Viera platform. Viera (sometimes referred to as Viera Connect or VieraCast) is a Smart TV platform by Panasonic that makes it possible to stream multimedia content from the Internet directly into select Viera HDTVs and Blu-Ray players. This guide will assist with troubleshooting problematic apps on your Panasonic Viera Smart TV.

8. Improve Wireless Connection

Try power cycling your modem and router:

  2. Please verify all lights are off on the modem and router.
  3. After 60 seconds, plug in your modem and then your router.

If your signal strength is still fair or poor and you are having connection or playback issues, try moving your router if possible.

  • If you can move your router closer to your Smart TV so they are closer together or simply have fewer objects and walls between them, the signal should improve. Sometimes just a few inches or feet can make a big difference.
  • Perhaps you can try moving the router closer temporarily, so as to verify that the signal strength is the problem.
  • If your router has them, try re-orienting the router’s antennas.
  • Try elevating your router higher up in it's current location.
  • If your router is inside a cabinet, remove it and see if signal improves.

If the wireless signal is still not strong enough, here are some additional options:

  • Purchase a new wireless router that provides a stronger signal, or has more reliable software. Routers do vary considerably in their quality so read the online reviews.
  • There are more advanced home network options, such as range extenders, mesh network routers, or power line extenders which can increase wireless coverage within your house.
