How to Fix Issues with the C by GE App

1. Introduction

This guide will take you through some troubleshooting steps to repair basic problems you may encounter with the C by GE app on your smartphone or tablet. You may find a need for this guide if the app is not connecting, if lights are not responding, or if the app won't open at all.

Tools You'll Need:

• iPhone charging cable
• Access to a computer with iTunes installed
• Any other non-consumable tools needed

Mobile Operating Systems

Before we get started, we need to know what Operating System you are using the app on.

There are 2 main Operating Systems for smartphones and tablets, Android and iOS.

Android Smartphone

Android smartphones are produced by multiple companies, such as Samsung, LG, Motorola, Sony, Nokia, Lenovo, and HTC.

iOS Smartphone

Apple is the only company that makes iOS smartphones.

2. Restart Your Android Device to Clear Memory

1. Hold down the power button on your Android device.
   Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.
2. A prompt will appear on-screen. Select Restart.
   

If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.

• If you had to shut down your Android device, wait 30 seconds before turning your device back on.

3. Reinstall the C by GE App on Android

If restarting your device didn't fix any issues you were having with your C by GE App you'll need to uninstall it, then install it again.

Uninstall the C by GE App

1. On your Android device, tap on the Apps icon on the main screen.
   

1. Look for the C by GE icon.
   

1. Tap and hold the apps icon until you see the Uninstall option show up at the top side of the screen.
   

1. Drag the icon over the Uninstall option until the icon turns red and release it.
   

1. You will be asked whether you want to uninstall the app. Tap on OK to confirm.
   

Install the C by GE App

1. Launch the Play Store on your mobile device.
   

1. Tap in the search box at the top of the screen.
   

1. Search for "c by ge" and tap on the found app.
   

1. Tap Install and then Open to use it.
   

If You're Still Having Issues

4. Restart Your iPhone to Clear Memory

1. Hold down the lock/power button.
2. Slide to power off when prompted.
3. Wait until the phone is off.
4. Hold down the lock/power button until you see the Apple logo.

5. Reinstall the C by GE App on iOS

If restarting your device didn't fix any issues you were having with your C by GE App you'll need to uninstall it, then install it again.

1. Tap and hold on the C by GE app until icons are shaking and tap the "X".
   

1. Tap Delete to Uninstall the app.
   

Install the C by GE App

1. Launch the App Store on your mobile device.
   

1. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
   

1. Search for "c by ge" and tap on the found app.
   

1. Tap Get and Install, then Open to use it.
