Hold a 9V battery against the terminals at the bottom of the lock. This will provide temporary power to unlock the door.
Unlock the Door:
Once the 9V battery is in place, enter your PIN code to unlock the door.
Replace the Batteries:

Have the Nest app installed on your smartphone or tablet.
Have your Wi-Fi network name and password available.
When your Nest x Yale Lock loses power, using a 9V battery is a quick fix to unlock the door.
2. Temporary Power To Unlock
If the keypad will not light, but is locked, it's possible the batteries in the lock have been drained.
As a temporary fix, you can use an external battery to enter your home. Then you can replace the batteries.
Acquire a 9-Volt battery. These are the square ones with terminals on the top.
Hold the battery to the two terminals at the bottom of your lock.
The keypad will light up, and will say "Press the Yale logo to begin. The batteries are very low. Replace the batteries now."
Do not remove the battery you are holding to the lock, it is currently powering the lock.
Press the Yale logo, then enter your code, then press the checkmark.
Your door will unlock.Once you hear the door unlock, it is safe to release the battery.

Insert a thin, sturdy rod into the top of the lock, such as the special key included with the lock, or a thumbtack.
You will see the 4 AA batteries.
Replace the four AA batteries.
Make sure the batteries are going in the right direction.
