The Xfinity xFi whole-home mesh network system is a great way to ensure you have Wi-Fi available to every device in every corner of your home. This guide will help when a Pod doesn't seem to be connecting properly, has problems staying connected, or if your connection doesn't seem to extend as far as it should.
Before You Begin:
Setup Xfinify xFi Pods
If you are looking to setup your Pods for the first time or after resetting them, we have a separate guide available to help.
Do not skip this step! While simple, it's also the single thing that can solve most problems you may have with your mesh networking setup. In many cases, a small power surge or temporary interference can cause a lot of problems, and power cycling allows all your devices to reset and recover from these minor problems.
While your Xfinity Pods are versatile, they do have some physical limitations that are easy to follow.
Distance
Pods should be about one room away, and about 20'-30' feet from your router.
Spacing Between Devices
Pods should be about half way between your devices and the router.
Pods and Furniture
Pods should not be hidden behind dressers, tables, or other furniture.
Switched Outlets
Pods should not be on an outlet with a switch.
Make sure your Pods are at proper distance, not covered, and not on a switched outlet, you may need to simply move the Pod to another power outlet in the same room. Then, try using your Internet connection again.
The next step is to reset the Pod you are having troubles with, and then setting it back up.
Reset xFi Pod
If you are willing to reset your Pod, we have a separate guide available to help you with the process.
If you are unable to reset your Pod at this time, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider for further assistance troubleshooting your Pod and getting it back online.
