Panasonic's TV Remote 2 app lets you comfortably operate a Panasonic flat-panel VIERA TV over a wireless network (Wi-Fi) more intuitively than the supplied remote control, while allowing you to transfer pictures, videos, music or websites from your mobile display to your TV, and vice versa.
This guide will walk you through the process of installing and setting up the Panasonic TV Remote 2 app.
Before you proceed, make sure that your Panasonic TV is compatible with the Panasonic TV Remote 2 app.
2. Check Wi-Fi Connection with Android Device
Your mobile device and your TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network in order to communicate with one another. The following steps will help you ensure that your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network your TV is. If your TV is using ethernet, be sure the Wi-Fi network you are connecting to is the one being broadcast from the router your TV is physically connected to.
Make sure your devices are not connected to a guest network. These types of networks typically prevent your devices from communicating with one another.
Press the Menu button on your remote control.
Arrow down to Network and press OK.
Press OK again on the Network status menu.
Take note of the Network name (SSID). Your mobile device will have to be on the same network.
Check your Android device
Tap on the Settings icon from your home screen.
Your connected Wi-Fi network will show next to Wi-Fi.
If the connected Wi-fi doesn't match what your Panasonic TV showed, Tap on Wi-Fi and choose the matching name.
3. Install Android App
Open Play Store.
Type "Panasonic TV Remote 2" in the search bar.
Select Panasonic TV Remote 2 in the search results.
Click Install to start downloading the app.
Click Open to proceed to the setup.
4. Setup
Once the app is opened, a welcome screen will appear that provides a bit of a tour for the app itself.
Select Close to proceed.
The app will begin searching for compatible Panasonic TVs to connect to.
Select your TV from the list once it appears to proceed.
Once the app successfully connects to your TV, you will be presented with available control options for your TV. You are now free to control things with the app, just as you would with the supplied remote control.
