As is the case with many smart home products on the market, there are multiple connection and communication methods available for Sylvania Smart+ lighting products. This guide will help you determine if your Sylvania device requires the Sylvania Smart Home app, and if so, help you get it installed onto your smartphone or tablet.

Supported Devices
Sylvania offers a number of different products, each with a slightly different setup.
Bluetooth Products
The Sylvania Smart Home App can be used to control the Bluetooth line of Smart+ bulbs.
Zigbee and Lightify Products
Zigbee bulbs in the Sylvania Smart+ line depend on your Zigbee hub which is a separate product, and do not use the Sylvania Smart Home App.

The Sylvania Smart Home app is available for both Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
Android
Google Play Store If you're using your Android device to view this guide, or have your Android device linked, you can use this link to jump directly to install the app.
Open the Play Store, then select the Search Bar at the top.
Type in Sylvania Smart Home, then select SYLVANIA Smart Home from the list.
Select Install.
Select Open to open the app.
Apple iOS
Apple HomeKit Sylvania recommends using the built-in HomeKit app, rather than their custom app, to control your lights. The Sylvania Smart Home app is still useful if you wish to update the firmware of your bulbs due to a problem you may be having.
Open the App Store and select Search in the bottom right corner.
Type in Sylvania Smart Home, and select Get.
Select Get or Cloud Install for Sylvania Smart Home.
Select Install.
Select Open.
3. Select Setup Method
When you first open the Sylvania Smart+ App, you'll need to complete some basic setup.
Open the Smart+ app. You'll be asked to allow access. Select Allow or OK for each.

iOS
You will then be asked how you want to setup your Sylvania Smart bulbs, as it varies greatly depending on how you wish to control your bulbs.
Google Assistant
The instructions on-screen will walk you through resetting your bulb and connecting it with your Google Assistant instead.
Apple HomeKit
The instructions on-screen will walk you through resetting your bulb and connecting it with Apple HomeKit instead.
Amazon Alexa
The instructions on-screen will walk you through first creating a Sylvania account, then connecting your bulb with your Alexa speaker instead.
Sylvania App
The app will walk you through creating an account and connecting your smartphone directly to your bulbs.
4. Initial Setup
The following steps apply if you want to use the Sylvania app to control your lights, rather than controlling them with the Apple HomeKit, Google Home, or Amazon Alexa system.
Select Sign Up at the bottom.
Enter your Email Address, then create a Password and enter it twice. Then, select Sign Up.
Check your Email. A message containing a verification code will be sent to you.Make note of this code, you will need it to complete setup in the next step!
Enter your Verification Code, and select Verify.
The Sylvania Smart Home Smart+ app is fully setup and ready to add your first device!
5. Add Group and Device
Open Smart+.
Select + Add A Group.
Select the room your Sylvania device is in, or enter a name for your room.
Select + Add A Device.
Smart+ will scan your room for devices.
Follow the instructions on screen to complete adding your device.
