The taskbar is the thin strip that normally runs across the bottom of your screen, and has been around since the release of Windows 95. In Windows 10, it houses a number of different elements including the Start button, the search & Cortana bars, pinned & active programs, and the system tray which includes the date and time. Similar to previous versions, Windows 10 allows you to customize the taskbar's position on the screen and its behavior.
2. Move Taskbar
There are two methods to move the taskbar in Windows:
Use the Taskbar Settings Menu
Right click the taskbar in an empty spot and select Taskbar settings.
Within the Settings window, scroll down to Taskbar location on screen.
From the selection box, choose the edge where you prefer the taskbar to show on your screen: Bottom, Top, Left or Right.
Drag the Taskbar Into Place
Right click the taskbar and make sure there is no checkmark next to Lock the taskbar.
Left click an empty spot on the taskbar, hold and drag the taskbar to the edge where you want it to show, then release.
