How to Pair Bluetooth Devices to a Fire TV

1. Introduction

Your Fire TV can be paired with different types of Bluetooth devices. Up to seven Bluetooth accessories can be paired with your Fire TV.

Start with a proximity check before pairing a Bluetooth device with Fire TV.

  • Bluetooth connection range is often limited to 10 meters or 32 feet.
  • A distance less than 12 inches can also cause issues.
  • Physical obstacles, like walls, drastically reduce the Bluetooth signal strength and range.
  • Electronic interference like radio and microwave signals are probable causes for connection issues.

2. Connect Remote

Pairing a new or additional Fire TV remote

  1. From your Fire TV, open Settings.
  2. Select Controllers and Bluetooth Devices.

  1. On your Fire TV Remote, press and hold the Home button for at least 10 seconds.
  2. Once done, the remote controller is added to the list of devices on your Fire TV screen. Select the new remote to start using it.

4. Connect Game Controller

Pair a game controller with Fire TVYour game controller should be in pairing mode. If you aren't sure how to put it in pairing mode, refer to its manual or the manufacturer's website.

  1. Open the Fire TV menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Controllers & Bluetooth Devices.

  1. Select Game Controllers.

  1. Press and hold the Home button on your game controller for at least 5 seconds.
  2. Once the Fire TV detects the controller's signal it will be added to the list on your TV screen.
  3. Select your game controller.

5. Connect Bluetooth Device

  2. Select Add Bluetooth Devices.
  3. You should see a list of detected nearby Bluetooth-ready devices, select your device to pair it.
