How to Pair Bluetooth Devices to a Sony XB10 Speaker

How to place your Sony XB10 speaker into pairing mode and connect it to an Android device, iOS device, or a Windows or Mac computer.
Before We Begin:
Have your speaker unboxed.
2. Pairing Mode
Press and hold the Power/Bluetooth button until you hear beeps and the Bluetooth light flashes rapidly.
If you have a NFC enabled device you can place it next to the NFC logo and it will automatically pair with your device.
3. Connect Bluetooth (Android)
Your Sony XB10 has a default passcode or passkey of 0000. You may need it when connecting.
Depending on what device (Smartphone or Tablet) and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar to all Android devices and generations.
Use One of the Following Connection Methods

Swipe down from the top of the device screen if it's a phone or up from the bottom of the device screen if it's a tablet to access the menu.
Locate the Bluetooth icon.
Press and hold the Bluetooth icon.
Make sure your Sony XB10 is in pairing mode.
Ensure Bluetooth is On and then select your Sony XB10 from the list below.
If a PIN or passkey is required, enter 0000.
Android Settings Menu
Locate and tap the App Drawer button.
Newer versions of Android's operating system may not have the app drawer button. If you do not see the button, you will simply swipe up from the bottom of your screen to get to your apps.
Locate and tap the Settings icon.
Select the Bluetooth. You may need to select Connections first.
Make sure your Sony XB10 is in pairing mode.
Ensure Bluetooth is On and then select your Sony XB10 from the list below.
If a PIN or passkey is required, enter 0000.
4. Connect Bluetooth (iOS)
Your Sony XB10 has a default passcode or passkey of 0000. You may need it when connecting.
From any iOS Device
Open Settings.
Tap Bluetooth.
Make sure your Sony XB10 is in pairing mode. This process will vary depending on what kind of device you have. Refer to your device's documentation for specifics on how to accomplish this.
Wait for your iPhone to display your speaker.
Select the speaker to pair it with the iPhone.
If there is a passkey, enter 0000.
If there is no passkey then your Bluetooth accessory should be paired now.
5. Connect Bluetooth (Windows)
Your Sony XB10 has a default passcode or passkey of 0000. You may need it when connecting.
Make sure your Sony XB10 is in pairing mode.
Click the Start button.
Tap on Settings.
Then click on Devices.
Select Bluetooth & other devices from the left-hand column and ensure the Bluetooth switch is in the On position to the right.
Click Add Bluetooth or other device.
Select Bluetooth from the list.
Select the Sony XB10 you want to pair the system with.
If asked to enter or verify the passcode, enter 0000.
Click on Done.
After the pairing was successful the speaker will show the Paired status under its name.
6. Check Default Playback Devices
To Set Your Default Audio Playback Device
Right click on your speaker icon in the Notification Area and then click on Playback devices.
Click on your device you wish to set as the default audio device and click Set Default.
Click OK to save the changes.
7. Connect Bluetooth (macOS)
Make sure your Sony XB10 is in pairing mode.
On the menu bar, click the Apple menu (1), then System Preferences (2).
Select Bluetooth.
Ensure that it says Bluetooth: On. Turn it on with the button if it isn't.
Your computer will search for any Bluetooth devices in range.
Once your speaker is located, click Pair.
Once the pairing process is complete, your Mac will automatically connect to the speaker whenever it is in range.
8. Check Default Audio Playback Devices
To Set Your Default Audio Playback Device
Click on the speaker icon and click on the device you wish to be your default playback device.
