How to Program a Comcast Xfinity X1 Remote

Programming your Comcast Xfinity X1 remote allows you to control your TV and Xfinity box with a single remote. Here’s a detailed guide on how to do it:
  1. Turn on the TV and Xfinity Box:
    • Ensure your TV and Xfinity X1 TV Box are both powered on and properly connected.
  2. Hold Setup Button:
    • Locate the “Setup” button on your Xfinity remote.
    • Press and hold the “Setup” button until the LED light on the remote changes from red to green.
  3. Enter the Manufacturer Code:
    • Enter the five-digit code for your TV brand. Codes can be found on the Xfinity website or in the user manual.
    • The LED should flash green twice if the code is entered correctly.
  4. Test the Remote:
    • Point the remote at the TV and press the power button.
    • If the TV turns off, the remote is successfully programmed.
    • If the TV does not turn off, repeat the steps with a different code from the list.
  5. Additional Functions:
    • To control the volume and power for an audio device (like a soundbar), follow the same steps but enter the code for the audio device instead of the TV.
    • Program the remote for voice commands by holding the “Microphone” button and speaking your command once the remote is set up.
  6. Programming for Additional Devices:
    • To program the remote for additional devices, such as audio receivers, follow the same steps and use the appropriate codes for each device.
  7. Reprogramming the Remote:
    • If you change devices or need to reset the remote, hold the Setup button until the LED turns green, then enter “9-8-1” to clear the current settings.
