Resetting your Google Wifi system can help resolve issues and restore default settings. Follow these steps:
Open the Google Home App:
Launch the Google Home app on your smartphone.
Select Your Wifi Device:
Tap on the Wi-Fi device you want to reset.
Access Settings:
Tap the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
Select Factory Reset:
Scroll down and select “Factory Reset.”
Confirm your choice to begin the reset process.
Wait for the Reset:
The device will reset and reboot, which may take a few minutes.
Reconfigure the Wifi System:

1. Introduction
The Google Wifi mesh router is a quick and easy way to get your whole home online. Factory resetting allows you to safely sell or give away the router without exposing your personal information. Or, if you've forgotten your setup information, including the information to access the router's setup, a factory reset can allow you to start over and regain control of your network. This guide will show you two ways to perform a factory reset on your equipment.
Before You Begin:
Google Wifi It is recommended you have the Google Wifi app installed and setup on your smartphone or tablet to perform the reset.
It is recommended to use the Google Wifi app to perform a factory reset. It will not only reset the hardware, but remove all the saved information from the Google account you used to set it up.
However, if you no longer have access to the Google account, just resetting the hardware directly will work; instructions to do so are at the bottom.
Factory Reset Using the Google Wifi App
Open the Google Wifi app, and select the Shortcuts and Settings tab.
Select Network & General.
Select Wifi points.
Select Factory reset.
A quick reminder that it will take a few minutes, and that your Wifi access will be interrupted is shown, select Factory Reset.
A final reminder is shown, select OK to begin the reset.
The factory reset process will take a few moments to start and may take up to ten minutes to finish. Eventually, you'll see a message stating that the reset is complete, select Done.
Factory Reset the Hardware Directly
Resetting the hardware will remove any settings or personal information from the hardware, but there's a lot of connection information and settings stored on your Google account that will not be removed.
The connection information will automatically be deleted from your Google account after six months.
Remove all cables from your Google Wifi point.
Push and hold the reset button on the device.
While still holding the reset button, plug in the power cable.
Continue to hold the reset button till the ring around the outside starts flashing blue.
When the ring around the outside of the device starts pulsing blue, you may release the reset button.
It will take seven to ten minutes to complete reset, the ring will turn amber when it has finished resetting.
