2. Verify Basic Setup has Been Completed
In order to proceed with this guide successfully, your ecobee Smart Thermostat must be fully installed and functioning properly.
3. Configure Access Control
With Access Control you can prevent others from changing the thermostat's settings with a 4-digit security code.
To Configure Access Control
Press Menu on the main screen.
Go to Settings.
Then go to Access Control.
Select Enable Security Code.
Enter a 4-digit security code then select Save.
Check any of the options you'd like to require a security code to access them.
You can restrict access to the following options:
Temperature & Quick Changes: Prevents someone from changing the temperature set point and accessing the Quick Changes menu to set temperature holds.
Schedule: Prevents someone from changing the thermostat's schedule.
Vacation: Prevents someone from changing the thermostat's vacation schedule.
System & Settings: Prevents someone from:
Switching the thermostat's system mode between Heat, Cool and Auto.
Changing the thermostat's settings such as: date and time, thermostat name, heating and cooling range, hold action, Wi-Fi configuration, equipment and threshold settings.
Resetting the thermostat's settings and/or registration.
All: Prevents someone from changing any of the previously listed settings.
