How to Set Up a Lexmark Printer

1. Introduction

Your Lexmark printer comes with a variety of features. This guide will help you setup and make the most of your printer.

Before you begin, make sure you have these on hand:

• Required cables
• Printer
• Computer
• Internet connection

We assume you have the printer unboxed.

Do not try to connect the printer to a computer until instructed to do so in the printing software.

3. Connect via Ethernet

1. In order to connect to a wired Ethernet connection, your printer needs to have an Ethernet port on the rear. This will vary depending on the model printer you have.
   

1. Acquire an Ethernet cable and connect it to the port on the back of the printer.
   

1. Take the other end of the Ethernet cable and plug it into your router's Ethernet port.
   

1. This is all that is needed to get your printer physically connected to your network.

4. Download Drivers

1. Open a web browser and navigate to support.lexmark.com/drivers
   

1. Enter your product model, operating system, version of your operating system, and your language and click Submit to continue.
   

1. Scroll down and click on the recommended driver.
   

1. On the page that loads, click the download button to start your download.
   

1. Your download should begin. Depending on what browser you've used, you may have to click Run or Save to continue, or simply click the file that's downloaded to launch the installer.
   

5. Install Software (Ethernet)

Before starting the USB to WiFi setup process, be sure to unplug the USB cable from the computer and printer. You will be asked to connect it later during the setup process.

2. The software will now detect your printer and ask you to select it from a list. Select your printer, then click Continue.

2. Your printer is now set up and ready to use via the Ethernet connection. You may disconnect the USB cable.
