This will guide you through the basic setup of your new Samsung Gear Fit2 Smart Fitness Band.
2. Charge
Plug the included charging dock into an electrical outlet.
Place your fitness band on the dock so the 4 charging terminals on the back touch the 4 charging terminals on the dock.
3. Device Check
The Samsung Gear Fit2 Smart Fitness Band can be used independently, but its full power is unlocked when paired to your smartphone.
First, make sure your Samsung Gear Fit2 is turned on.
Push and hold the Home key for a few seconds, the screen will light up.
4. Enable Bluetooth
Swipe down on your screen (or up, if using a tablet) to access the menu.
Hold down on the Bluetooth icon to bring up Bluetooth options.
Ensure the Bluetooth switch is set to ON.
5. Install Android App
Launch the Play Store.
Search for "samsung gear" using the search box located at the top.
Touch the magnifying glass on the on-screen keyboard to search.
Make sure the app you select is provided by Samsung Electronics and not a third party. Tap Install.
Tap Open.
6. Pairing
Turn on your Samsung Gear Fit2 and bring it within 10 feet of your smartphone.
Open the Samsung Gear app on your smartphone.
Tap on Connect to Gear.
Confirm that the passkey displayed on your smartphone and the one displayed on the Gear Fit 2 match. Then, tap on OK.
Check the boxes to agree with the terms and features then tap on Next.
Tap on Sign In to login to your Samsung account to be able to sync your data. If you don't have an account yet, follow the instructions to create one and fill in your required details.
7. Device Layout
The 2 physical buttons on the right side of the device provide a convenient way to return one screen back from where you are now, or jump right back to the home screen.
Covering the screen with your hand will allow you to turn off the screen instantly, to save battery life. To turn the screen on, push the Home or Back buttons.
On the back of your device, you'll find the heart rate monitor in the center, and the 4 charging terminals.
8. Basic Functions
Home Screen
The Watch screen shows the time, your step count, and calories burned by default. You can change the watch face by pressing and holding the watch screen, then tap Stylize.
Push the Home button to access your apps screen.
Exercise
This app will let you choose your activity type, and log your exercise.
Tap Start to begin monitoring.
Push the Back button to pause and resume monitoring.
Push Back, then tap Finish to stop monitoring.
Widgets
Widgets let you quickly and easily access some limited functionality of your fitness tracker, such as a simple way to check your heart rate.
Swipe left through your current widgets.
Swipe right from the home screen to add a new widget.
To delete a widget, find it, then tap and hold on the screen, then tap Delete.
Status Panel
To access the status panel, swipe down from the top edge.
Here, you'll see the simple status bar showing if your watch is connected via Bluetooth or WiFi, and the battery charge.
You can adjust how bright the display is by tapping the icon on the left.
You can enable Do Not Disturb mode, muting your fitness tracker and phone with the button on the right.
You'll also find fast access to control the music from your phone.
9. Enable Bluetooth
Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
Then tap Bluetooth.
Make sure Bluetooth is set to On.
10. Install iOS App
Open the App Store.
Type in "Samsung Gear" in the search bar.
Find Samsung Gear in the search results and tap on GET.
