2. Initial Setup
Your VIZIO soundbar comes with a soundbar speaker, a subwoofer, and a box of accessories that includes power cords and audio cables.
Placement and Power
Center the soundbar below your TV.
Plug the power cord into the soundbar.
Place the subwoofer in a corner of the room.
Plug the power cord into the subwoofer and turn it on. The subwoofer has been paired to the soundbar by VIZIO.
Audio
Your soundbar can connect to your television in four different ways.
Optical Optical works for most televisions and is the most common, and best supported way to make the connection to your soundbar.
Coaxial (Coax) Some televisions have a coax port, but it is not very common.
RCA to Aux/Aux to RCA Again, this is not a common output, but some televisions can use either an RCA-to-minijack or minijack-to-RCA connection.
3. Optical Connection
Optical allows you to use a simple, single-wire connection from your television to your sound bar to enjoy all your media with your new soundbar automatically.
Plug the optical cable into your soundbar.
Plug the optical cable into your television.
Turn your television on and the soundbar will automatically begin searching for an active input.
4. LED Indicators
Here's an overview of the different LED indicators that could appear on your sound bar.
Input.
Bluetooth Pairing. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the remote.
DTS TruVolume On/Off. Press the TVOL button to enable/disable TruVolume.
DTS TruSurround On/Off. Press the TSHD button to enable/disable DTS TruSurround.
Treble Levels. Press the TREBLE button on your remote then press the Next/Previous button to increase/decrease the treble level.
Bass Levels. Press the BASS button on your remote then press the Next/Previous button to increase/decrease the bass level.
Dolby Digital is selected. Dolby Digital is only available on either the Coaxial In or Digital Optical Audio In inputs.
Factory Reset. Reset the sound bar to factory default settings.
VIZIO TV Remote Control. Enable/disable the use of a VIZIO TV remote control to power on and adjust the volume of the sound bar.
Energy Star. When the Energy Star setting is enabled, the sound bar will automatically power down after a period of inactivity.
5. Using the Remote
Here's an overview of the buttons on your remote.
Power. Press to turn your sound bar on or off.
Input. Press to change the input source.
Bluetooth. Press to enter Bluetooth input. (Press and hold for 5 seconds to force your sound bar into pair mode.)
Volume (+/-). Press to increase or decrease the volume.
Enter/Play/Pause. Press to select an option. Press to play or pause.
Previous. Press to return to a previous track.
Next. Press to send to the next track.
TruVolume. Press to enable/disable TruVolume.
Trusurround HD. Press to enable/disable TruSurround HD.
Mute. Press to mute/unmute.
Movie. Press to enable Movie preset EQ mode.
Music. Press to enable Music preset mode.
SUB. Press to enter subwoofer level adjustment mode.
Bass. Press to enter bass level adjustment mode.
Treble. Press to enter treble level adjustment mode.
6. Pair Bluetooth
Your sound bar can stream music from smart phones, tablets, or other Bluetooth capable devices. Be sure to keep your device within 30 feet of your sound bar, otherwise, you may lose the connection.
Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the sound bar or your remote until the LED indicators light up sequentially from top to bottom and back again. This LED pattern indicates that the soundbar is in pairing mode.
Now, search for the sound bar with your Bluetooth device.
7. Pair Bluetooth Devices
Some Bluetooth accessories are configured with a PIN or a passkey that is often listed in its manual. Check your Bluetooth accessory manual for the correct PIN or passkey.
Depending on what device (Smartphone or Tablet) and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar to all Android devices and generations.

Swipe down from the top of the device screen if it's a phone or up from the bottom of the device screen if it's a tablet to access the menu.
Locate the Bluetooth icon.
Press and hold the Bluetooth icon.
Swipe the switch to your right to set the Bluetooth accessory in pairing/discovery mode.
A list of nearby devices and previously paired devices will be shown.
In the list of Available Devices, choose the Bluetooth accessory you wish to pair with.
If you are prompted for a passkey, put it in. If there is no passkey, then your Bluetooth accessory should be paired now.
Android menu settings
Locate and tap the Apps Menu.
Locate and tap the Settings icon.
Select the Bluetooth. You may need to select Connections first.
Swipe the switch to your right to set the Bluetooth accessory in pairing/discovery mode.
A list of nearby devices and previously paired devices will be shown.
In the list of Available Devices, choose the Bluetooth accessory you wish to pair with.
If you are prompted for a passkey, put it in. If there is no passkey, then your Bluetooth accessory should be paired now.
8. Connect Bluetooth
Some Bluetooth accessories are configured with a PIN or a passkey that is often listed in its information manual. Check your Bluetooth accessory documentation for the correct PIN or passkey.
From any iOS device (iPod, iPad, iPhone):
Open Settings
Then Bluetooth.
Set the Bluetooth accessory in pairing/discovery mode.
Wait for your iOS device to display the detected Bluetooth accessory.
Select the Bluetooth accessory to pair it with the iOS device.
If there is a passkey, put it in.
If there is no passkey then your Bluetooth accessory should be paired now.
9. Coax Connection
Coax allows you to use a simple, single-wire connection from your television to your sound bar to enjoy all your media with your new soundbar automatically.
Plug the coaxial cable into your soundbar.
Plug the other end of your coaxial cable into your television.
Turn your television on and the soundbar will automatically begin searching for an active input.
10. RCA Connection
Aux allows you to connect your soundbar using a mini-jack output from your television.
Plug the RCA cables into your soundbar. Match the white end with the white port, and the red end with the red port.
Plug the mini-jack into your television.
Turn your television on and the soundbar will automatically begin searching for an active input.
11. Aux Connection
Aux allows you to connect your soundbar using RCA outputs from your television.
Plug the mini-jack into your soundbar.
Plug the RCA cables into your television. Match the white end with the white port, and the red end with the red port.
