Many Sonos speakers now come with a built-in microphone, and can be used in combination with Amazon's Alexa service to provide a simple, voice-activated personal assistant to control your home and beyond. This guide will help you setup your Sonos speaker to communicate with Amazon Alexa so that you can use voice commands.
Before You Begin:
Sonos Setup You will need to have the Sonos App installed and your Sonos speaker setup first.
First, you will need to enable the microphones on your Sonos speakers using the Sonos app.
Select the Menu at the top, then select Voice Services.
Enter your Email Address, and Password, then select Sign in.
You'll hear a chirp from your speaker. Select Continue.
A short note about adding devices to Alexa will be shown, select Next.
Voice services are now enabled, select Done.
3. Add Sonos Skill to Alexa
Next, Alexa needs to have the Sonos skill added, so you can control your Sonos products using Alexa. This is done in the Alexa app.
Select the Menu at the top, then select Skills & Games.
Select Search at the top.
Type in Sonos, and select the Sonos skill from the search results.
Select Enable to Use.
Select Continue.
Enter your Email Address, Sonos password, and select Sign In.
Sonos is now connected to Alexa!In order for Alexa to connect to all your Sonos speakers, it will need to be told to search for them. Say "Alexa, discover my devices" at this time. The Alexa service will reach out to your Sonos system, and set up connections to your entire Sonos system.
4. Add Music Services to Amazon Alexa
In order to use your various music services, both Amazon Alexa and Sonos need to know about the music services. You need to link your music service to both Alexa, and to Sonos.
Add Music Service to Sonos
Open up the menu from the top left corner of the screen.
Select Add Music Services.
If you're using the Sonos Controller for computers, you can find the same option in the source browser on the right side of the screen.
Search for the music service you want to add and tap on it.
Tap on Add Account.
Create a new account for the music service or login with an existing one.
Login with your music service credentials.
Once your account is verified you'll get to the setup completion screen. Then set a nickname for this account.
Once set up you can add another account for the same music service or tap on Done.
The music service will now show up in your Sonos Controller across all devices.
If you added another account you can select which one to use by tapping on the nickname you set earlier. Another way to add another account is by following the same steps from the beginning to add the same music service but with the other account.
Select the account you want to use from the Change Account menu at the bottom.

Select Skills & Games.
Select Categories at the top.
Select Music & Audio.
