Gmail is very popular, free to use email service provider. This guide will help you setup the Outlook 2019 program to access your email, rather than rely on the web interface.
Before You Begin:
Verify Password Before setting up, take a moment to visit the web-based version of your email, and try to log in (sign out then back in if you need to). You will need to remember your password in order to complete setup.
Give Outlook Permission to get Your GmailBefore you add your Gmail account to Outlook, you'll need to adjust some security settings to let Outlook see your Gmail.
Go to Gmail from your browser http://mail.google.com/, then select the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Select Settings.
Select Forwarding and POP/IMAP under Settings.
Under IMAP Access, select Enable IMAP.
Click Save Changes.
Scroll back up then select the Google apps icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Select My Account.
Select Signing in to Google.
Under Password & sign-in method, if 2-Step Verification is ON, skip to the next step. Otherwise, select 2-Step Verification and follow the prompts. When you're done, select the back arrow at the top of the screen.
Under Password & sign-in method > App passwords.
Enter your Google password then Sign in. At the bottom of the next screen, select Mail and Windows Computer from the drop-down lists then click Generate.
Google will display an app password for you. Make a note of this password (without the spaces).
