1. Introduction
Linksys Velop home networking devices create a mesh network in your home that can be controlled by using the Linksys app on your mobile devices. Many routers offer parental control restrictions that parents can use to restrict internet access at certain times, and control what web content their children are able to access. This guide will demonstrate how the Linksys app can be used to apply parental control restrictions to any device connected to the network.
A list of devices that are currently connected to your home network will appear. Tap the device you would like to configure parental controls on.
Ensure the device you wish to add parental control restrictions to is powered on and connected to your home WiFi network. If it is not powered on or in range of your WiFi network, it will not appear in this list of devices.
The parental controls menu for that device will appear. From this menu, internet access for this device can be revoked by tapping Pause Internet Access.
If you would like to set a schedule for pausing internet access, such as a cut-off bedtime for a child, select Schedule a Pause. This feature will allow you to set specific times at which internet access for a specific device will be unavailable.
This menu also gives you the ability to block websites. This can be accomplished by choosing to block specific categories of websites, (ex. games, social media, videos) or a specific websites (ex. youtube.com).
When blocking specific websites, you can only block up to 10 websites. If you would like to do more, try using one of the category blockers.
