How to Set Up Peripherals for Nintendo Wii U

1. Introduction

A number of accessories can be connected to your Nintendo Wii U which can add extra functionality or convenience. This guided will walk you through the setup process. Please note that some of the peripherals have some prerequisites before beginning.

2. Connect Wii Remote

  1. On the Wii U Gamepad, press the Home button.

  1. Tap Controller Settings.

  1. Under Wii Remote/Other Controllers tap Pair.

  1. Press the Sync Button on the controller you wish to pair.

3. Connect Additional Peripherals?

Do you have any other peripherals?

4. Connect Wii U Pro Controller

  1. On the Wii U Gamepad, press the Home button.

  1. Tap Controller Settings.

  1. Under Wii Remote/Other Controllers tap Pair.

5. Syncing the Gamepad

  1. Power up the Gamepad, Wii U, and television.
  2. Press the sync button on the Wii U game console.

  2. On the Wii U Gamepad, tap the symbols in the order they appear on the television.

6. Connect Nunchuk

  1. Slide the wrist strap cord through the connector of the nunchuk.

  1. Plug the nunchuk connector into the External Extension Connector on the bottom of the Wii Remote.

7. Connect Wii Fit U Balance Board

  1. On the Wii U Gamepad, press the Home button.

  1. Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the board.
