1. Introduction

Local weather forecasts shown on your ecobee are determined by the property address entered during registration. Ecobee takes your address, finds the closest weather stations, and estimates the forecast with a special algorithm.

If ecobee hasn't been giving accurate weather forecasts, take a moment to check or update the property address. You may need to in case you've moved, relocated the thermostat, or the address was entered wrong.

Here are the instructions on how to update or change the property address tied to your ecobee. You'll begin by signing in to the ecobee web portal to access the thermostat settings.

2. Change the ecobee Thermostat Home Address

Sign in to the ecobee the web portal to change your home address.

1. Open your preferred web browser, and navigate to ecobee.com.
   

1. Hover over the Sign in option in the top right corner of the web page, then select Sign in to your account.
   

1. Enter the Email and Password associated with your ecobee account, then click Sign in.
   

1. Go to Settings.
   

1. Then go to Location.
   

1. Fill in your full correct address in the fields to the right.
   

1. Then click Save.
   

1. Your ecobee thermostat's home address is now updated.
