How to stop the Master Password prompts on Roboform
RoboForm requires the Master Password to be entered in order to access your data. The Master Password cannot be removed, but you can reduce the number of times you're requested to enter it. By selecting the “Do not ask for Master Password†option, the only time you'll need to enter your Master Password is if you manually log out or if you've checked the automatic logout option under the security settings.
With the Auto-Logout option selected, even if you've checked the "Don't ask for Master Password" box, you'll be prompted to enter your Master Password each time you lock your workstation or when your device is in sleep/hibernation/screensaver mode.
To turn off one or both of these features, Choose the OS Customer is using and follow the instructions
Minimizing the number of times you're required to enter your Master Password can lead to accidental forgetfulness. If you forget your Master Password it cannot be recovered.
To turn off “Always ask for Master Password†follow these steps:
1) Click the RoboForm icon in the corner next to the time. If it is not shown select the Show Hidden icons [ ^ ] icon near the time and click the RoboForm Taskbar icon.
2) Select “Options†from the menu.
3) Select the “Security†tab from the column on the left
4) Under “Authentication method†check the box labeled “Don’t ask for Master Passwordâ€
5) Click the “Save†button at the bottom of the window to save your changes.
NOTE: For security reasons, we will ask you to enter your Master Password every 30 days.
To turn off Automatic Logout follow these steps:
1) Click the RoboForm icon in the corner next to the time. If it is not shown select the Show Hidden icons [ ^ ] icon near the time and click the RoboForm Taskbar icon.
2) Select “Options†from the menu.
3) Select the “Security†tab from the column on the left.
4) Under “Automatic Logout†uncheck the “Auto-Logout on User Switch or Lock Workstation†option.
5) You will receive a warning message from RoboForm telling you that we strongly recommend that you keep this option turned on. Click “OK.â€
6) Click the “Save†button at the bottom of the window to save your changes.
If you already have “Don’t ask for Master Password†checked, you will be unable to edit your Automatic Logout settings.
To edit them, check the box labeled “Always ask for Master Password.†After editing, you can re-check the “Don’t ask for Master Password box.

1) Click the RoboForm icon at the top left corner of your screen in your Menu Bar.
2) Select “Preferences†from the menu.
3) Select the “Security†tab from the column on the left.
4) Under “Unlocking†check the box labeled “Don’t ask for Master Password.â€
5) Click “OK†at the bottom right of the preferences window to save your changes.
