Keeping your Sonos system up to date ensures you'll always have access to any new features, music services, and player updates that Sonos releases. Normally, when a new software update is available for your Sonos system, you will be prompted to update with an “System Update Available†banner.
This guide will demonstrate additional ways to ensure your system is always up to date. While you may have different speakers all connected to your system, they all update the same way and usually at the same time.
Before You Begin:
You must have Sonos Controller App installed
While your Sonos devices will prompt you via the Sonos app when there is an update available for any of your devices, you also have the ability to have your devices automatically update themselves, or manually check for updates if you wish.
When automatic updates are enabled, your Sonos System will attempt to apply updates during the window of time you've selected. However, if your device is being used, if there is an alarm scheduled during this time, or if your device loses internet connectivity, the update will be postponed until the next available update window.
