2. Use HomeKit Scenes
Because Siri is only available on Apple devices, you must use your Apple device to speak to Siri to be able to control your home.
You can ask Siri to set your ecobee thermostat to a certain scene by saying the following:
- "Hey Siri, good morning." ‒ Sets your thermostat to the Home comfort setting.
- "Hey Siri, good night." ‒ Sets your thermostat to the Sleep comfort setting.
- "Hey Siri, I’m home." ‒ Sets your thermostat to the Home comfort setting.
- "Hey Siri, I’m leaving." ‒ Sets your thermostat to the Away comfort setting.
- "Hey Siri, resume schedule." ‒ Resumes the programmed schedule if the thermostat was placed on hold or was in vacation mode.
3. Create HomeKit Scene
To Create a Custom Scene
- Launch the ecobee app.
- Go to the Menu in the top left.
- Then go to Manage HomeKit.
- Select Scenes.
- Tap the plus sign in the top right to add a Custom Scene.
- Enter a name for your new Scene, select the ecobee device you'd like to enable the Scene for and then select the command:
- Resume Schedule ‒ to resume your programmed schedule,
- Comfort Setting ‒ to choose a specific Comfort Setting to maintain,
- Custom ‒ to create a custom set point to maintain.
- Your new Custom Scene will show up with the others.
