This guide will take you through the basics of using the Sengled Home app to control your Sengled Element LED Bulbs and Light Strips, as well as the Sengled WiFi Bulb.
Before You Begin:
Have the Sengled Home App Installed
This guide assumes you have the Sengled Home app installed on your smartphone or tablet, and already have your bulbs, light strip, switches, and plugs setup.
Sengled offers a wide variety of different bulbs, light strips, and other devices. Because of their design, they can also function on other smart home platforms.
This guide will focus on using Sengled Element lighting devices with the Sengled Home app, whether they're used on their own or connected to the Sengled Element hub.
Sengled Home App
The Sengled Home App app on your phone allows you to control all your Sengled Element devices connected to the Sengled Element Hub, as well as the Sengled WiFi bulb.
Sengled Element Hub
The Sengled Element Hub is the 'heart' of your Sengled-powered smart home setup, providing a Zigbee antenna to talk to your various Sengled devices, as well as store settings for timers, and communicate with your smartphone using the Sengled Home App, as well as other services such as Google Home and IFTTT.
Sengled Element A19
Comes in Multicolor, Daylight, Soft White, Tunable, and Touch Button models.
Sengled Element Multicolor Light Strip
Sengled Element Motion Sensor PAR38
Sengled Element Multicolor BR30
Sengled Element Smart Plug
Sengled Smart WiFi LED A19
Comes in Multicolor, Soft White, and Daylight models.
This bulb communicates directly with your router and does not require a hub, but is controlled through the Sengled Home app.
Sengled has chosen a very standard Zigbee communication method for many of their products. Because of this, their devices will work with other, 3rd party smart hubs.
Other Smart Hubs
If you're using another smart hub not provided by Sengled, we offer the following guides for using them.
Basic lighting control is fast and easy with the Sengled Home app. Most are available right from the home screen; the first you are shown when you open it.
Turn On or Off All Lights
To turn on and off all the lights in your home, select All On or All Off at the top.
Turn On or Off a Room's Lights
To turn off and on the lights in one room, select the smaller All On or All Off for the room you want to change.
Adjust brightness
Use the slider to adjust how bright or dim all the lights are in the room.
You cannot adjust the brightness of a lamp connected to a Sengled Element Smart Plug.
If you want to control a single light in a room full of smart devices, you can go into the individual room to access each device directly.
Your hub keeps track of estimated energy savings and performance of your smart devices. If you'd like to check this, you can do so via the menu.
You can setup powerful schedules to automate your lighting needs, such as when you get home from work. If you want to add Schedules to your lighting, it's fast and easy from the Sengled Home app.
A special type of schedule you can setup is for waking up. Your lights will slowly brighten over time, simulating the rising sun, which can help you wake up refreshed and ready for your day.
