1. Introduction: Amazon Echo: Pair Bluetooth
Amazon Alexa devices allow you to stream audio through other speakers that are paired through Bluetooth.
Before you start:
Place the Echo device and Bluetooth speaker at least three feet apart. When the Echo device is close to external speakers, it may be more difficult for Alexa to hear the wake word and other requests.
For best results, use a Bluetooth speaker certified for use with Echo devices. For more information, visit the Amazon Support page titled "Certified Speakers and Supported Bluetooth Profiles for Echo Devices"
Make sure you can pair the speaker to other Bluetooth devices, like a mobile phone.
Turn the Bluetooth speaker on and turn the volume up.
Disconnect any other Bluetooth devices from the Echo device. Echo Devices can only connect with one Bluetooth device at a given time.
2. Amazon Echo: Pair Bluetooth
To pair the Echo device to a Bluetooth speaker:
Turn on pairing mode on your Bluetooth speaker. Please refer to the Bluetooth speakers user guide for instructions.
Launch the Alexa app on your mobile device.
Select Settings.
Select your Echo Device.

Tap on Pair a New Device. Your Echo device enters pairing mode. When your Echo device discovers your Bluetooth speaker, the speaker appears in the list of available devices.
Select your Bluetooth speaker.
Your Echo device pairs with the speaker and Alexa then tells you if the pairing is successful.
3. Amazon Echo: Troubleshoot Bluetooth
If your Echo device doesn't pair with the Bluetooth speaker try these troubleshooting steps:
Make sure to unpair other devices from the speaker.
For portable speakers, check the batteries for the speaker.
Check for interference. Move your Bluetooth speaker and Echo device away from sources of interference, such as microwave ovens, baby monitors, and other wireless devices.
In the Alexa app, forget the Bluetooth speaker:
Launch the Alexa app on your mobile device.
Tap on the Menu symbol.
Select Settings.
Select your Echo Device.
Then tap on Bluetooth.
Select your Bluetooth speaker
Tap on Forget Device to unpair the speaker from your Echo device.
Try to re-pair the Bluetooth speaker to the Echo device.
