Repair Issues with Your Fujifilm X-T1 Companion App

1. Introduction: Fujifilm Camera Remote: Fujifilm X-T1: Repair issues
This guide will take you through correcting common problems with the Fujifilm Camera Remote app on your smartphone.
2. Fujifilm X-T1: Powercycle
Rotate the on/off switch on the top of your camera to Off.
Wait 30 seconds.
Turn your camera back On.
3. Android: Restart
Hold down the power button on your Android device. Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.
A prompt will appear on-screen. Select Restart.
If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.
If you had to shut down your Android device, wait 30 seconds before turning your device back on.
4. Android: Enable Location
This app requires location services to be enabled on your device to function properly.
Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
Scroll down, and select Location.
Make sure Location services are turned On at the top.
5. Fujifilm Camera Remote: Test
Verify Camera Wi-Fi is Enabled
Press the Wi-Fi Function button on top of your camera.
Look on your camera screen. You will see the network name listed, it begins with FUJIFILM-X-T1-.
Test App
Open the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.
Select Connect.
Try some of the features of the app; make sure you can use the remote function, or browse images on your camera.
6. Fujifilm Camera Remote: Uninstall Android App
Touch and hold the Fujifilm Camera Remote icon.
Select Uninstall.
Select OK to remove the app.
7. Fujifilm Camera Remote: Install Android App
Launch the Play Store on your smartphone.
Select the search bar at the top.
Type in "FUJIFILM Camera Remote", then select FUJIFILM Camera Remote from the list.
Select Install.
This app requires extra permissions. When prompted, select Accept.
Once installed, you can select Open now to open it.
We will return to the app in a moment, our next step is to enable Wi-Fi mode on your camera.
8. Fujifilm X Series: Pair to Android
Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
Select Wi-Fi.
Select your camera's Wi-Fi Network. The name will begin with FUJIFILM-X-T1-, it will not have any password on it.
Open the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.
Select Connect.
9. Fujifilm Camera Remote: Test

10. Fujifilm X Series: Range Check
The camera and your smart device need to be within a reasonable range of each other in order to connect and have the best connection speeds.
In general, in most conditions, you can be up to 30 feet from your camera for a decent connection.
From 30' to 50' away, the speeds will be slower, and may drop occasionally, but it should be usable.
Greater than 50' away, and the signal will most likely be too weak to overcome interference. The speeds will be slow, and the connection may be sporadic.

Rotate the on/off switch on the top of your camera to Off.

Select Privacy.
Select Location Services.
Make sure Location Services is turned On at the top. Look through the list of programs below, and make sure Cam Remote has "While Using" or "Always" selected.

18. Fujifilm Camera Remote: Uninstall iOS App
On the main screen of your iOS device, look for the FUJiFILM icon.
Tap on hold the icon until an X shows up on its top left corner. Tap on the X.
You will be asked whether you want to delete the app. Tap on Delete to confirm.
19. Fujifilm Camera Remote: Install iOS App
Open the App Store.
Select Search in the bottom right corner.
Type in "FUJIFILM Camera Remote", then select Search.
Select Get for FUJIFILM Camera Remote.
Select Open to open the app now, if you wish.

20. Fujifilm X Series: Pair to iOS
Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
Select Wi-Fi.
Make sure that the Wi-Fi feature is enabled by flipping the On/Off switch to the green position.
Select your camera's Wi-Fi Network. The name will begin with FUJIFILM-X-T1-, it will not have any password on it.
