The Xfinity xFi whole-home mesh network system is a great way to ensure you have WiFi available to every device in every corner of your home. This guide will help you understand the small status light on the Pod itself.
Before You Begin:
Xfinity xFi App
You will be able to get a lot more information from the Xfinity xFi app, as it shows the full status of each of your Pods.
During normal operation, there are no status lights on the Pod — nothing flashing or shining to distract or bother you.
The status indicator light is hidden on the front, just off-center.
Generally speaking, you won't rely much on the simple status light on the Pod itself. While it can be helpful during troubleshooting, it can't communicate much.
The xFi app on your phone or tablet will provide you with full information about what your Pod's status is.
When you first plug in a Pod, the light will turn solid for a moment, then "breathe" while it seeks out your router. Once connected, it will turn off.
Quick Repeated Double Blinks
Pod is Optimizing Your pod will attempt to optimize your network once a day, usually overnight. If another change happened, such as another pod went offline, was moved, or high interference from another source was found.
This is normal operation; your Pod is working to provide the best WiFi experience possible.
Quick Double Blinks
Naming Pod You're renaming the pod from the app.
This will only happen when you are next to the pod, naming it using the mobile app, and will happen quickly.
Breathing
Connecting Your Pod is connecting to your Router and other Pods, either because it lost connection or power recently.
Continuous Rapid Blinking
Problems with the software on the Pod You will need to contact support.
Blinking Red
Hardware Problems Something is wrong with the physical hardware. Unplug your Pod and contact support.
